HOW-TO: Set-up a New Space

This HOW-TO assumes that you're an administrator of slate. This HOW-TO also assumes that their is an appropriate theme for the site that you're adding.

  1. In the main admin dashboard click 'Create space'.
  2. Fill in the name of the space, the domain for the new space and make sure the correct type of space is selected. Remember: The name of the space will be shown to the user throughout the admin panels and in their title tags.
  3. Once the space has been set-up click on the title of the space to get to it's dashboard.
  4. Click the 'Properties' link in the site's component bar
  5. Select a 'Theme' for the site and click 'Save new properties'
  6. Click the 'Create a Page' button
  7. Create a page with the title 'Home'. Select the appropriate index or default page template. Important''' Make sure to select 'Default page?' because this will be the home page for the site
  8. Double-check that the site works. Go to 'domain.sitespace.wvu.edu' to test it.

If this is a blog talk to Chris to make sure that the appropriate behavior is added to the index page. You can now add the content for the site.
